Salary Range:
$25.58-$39.49 per hour
This position comes with a competitive hourly rate that reflects your value as a diagnostic imaging technician. Your salary will depend on your experience and qualifications.
Job Description:
Radiology Technologist Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality x-ray images of specified body areas as directed by physicians or radiologists, ensuring clear and undistorted films.
- Position and instruct patients regarding x-ray procedures, prioritizing their comfort and safety.
- Perform x-ray procedures using portable machines as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units.
- Process films for radiologists reading/interpretation following established procedures.
- Prepare or clean patient rooms by changing linens, stocking supplies, and wiping off tables and equipment to maintain an efficient and clean working environment.
- Protect patients from undue exposure to radiation by utilizing lead shields and various safety factors.
- Prepare and assist in administering contrast agents, monitoring dosages, and determining potential allergies, ensuring compliance with department policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient information by purging or updating patient film jackets and/or filing reports or film files to ensure accurate patient records.
- Maintain imaging and processing equipment by performing scheduled cleanings and tests, documenting results, and contacting service personnel and notifying supervision of malfunctioning equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Successful completion of an approved radiological training program and the ability to meet the requirements for registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is mandatory.
- A current license/certification in the state of practice is required.
- Possess a current Basic Life Support Certification or obtain certification within one month of employment.
- At least one year of experience in a setting serving the same age/type of patient population served by this facility or department is preferred.
