Job Summary:

As an Occupational Health Specialist at Deaconess, you will play a critical role in delivering employment-related healthcare services to area businesses and industries. Your expertise will be utilized to provide a range of services, including drug screening, respiratory fit testing, and audiograms, both in our COMP Center Clinic and on-site at client locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare materials and deliver services to clients, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Process information and charge entry for billing purposes.
  • Travel to client locations to provide on-site testing services.
  • Competently perform skills such as urine drug screen services, hair drug testing, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, spirometry, and respiratory fit testing.
  • Prepare reports detailing necessary information for clients and the Billing Department.
  • Process drug screening results and other surveillance results, assisting in Medical Review Officer functions.
  • Enter Department of Transportation physical results into the National Registry for COMP Center patients.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies, adhering to policies for compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Assist clinical staff in providing services within scope of practice and training.
  • Stay current with healthcare trends through reading professional journals, attending CMEs, and completing required Web-Inservice's and seminar/conference attendance.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year or more of related healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Training and licensure/certification as an EMT or Paramedic preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license.
