Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Optimization Specialist to join our team at NRG Energy. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance departments to optimize plant equipment performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for equipment overhauls and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment life.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of equipment problems and provide recommendations to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures for equipment testing and inspections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and optimize plant operations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field (e.g. engineering, physics, chemistry).
  • Minimum of two years' experience in technical support of a power plant or similar industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of power plant processes and equipment, including boilers, turbines, and balance of plant systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to effectively supervise and train others.
  • Proficient in the use of PC and Windows applications, including spreadsheet and word processing software.
Working Conditions

This position requires extensive travel to power plant sites, including climbing vertical ladders and working in industrial settings. The successful candidate must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and work effectively in a team environment.
