Job Title: Principal Network Engineer

Our client, a world leader in aerospace, is seeking a Principal Network Engineer to join their team. This is a contract position with a pay rate of $120.00/hr. on W2 and a duration of 12 months or longer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and architect network systems, including network design, architecture, specifications, and equipment selection.
  • Develop and implement network security protocols, including IP4 and IPv6 network design, IP subnetting, and protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network devices, including Cisco IOS/IOS-XE.
  • Implement advanced network features, such as GRE, IPSEC, IP quality-of-service, VLANs, and multicast.
  • Manage network security protocols, including SNMP, SSH, syslog, RADIUS/TACACS.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in science, engineering, or related discipline with 5 years of experience; OR 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters (MS) degree; OR 0 years of experience with STEM PhD degree.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Full Secret clearance before starting.
  • DoD 8570 Security certification, such as Sec+, CASP, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate with considerable independence and self-identify/pursue long-term interests.
  • Ability to communicate well, including proficiency with MS Office tools, including PowerPoint and Visio.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certification specific to the networking industry, such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with network management applications, such as Splunk, Firepower Management Center (FMC), and/or Cisco ISE.
  • Experience with HAIPE/TACLANE and other military COMSEC/CRYPTO equipment and procedures.
  • Experience with tactical/military radio networks, such as Common Data Link (CDL) and ANW2.
  • Experience with (MIL) SATCOM equipment and services.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Communications / VoIP and VTC.
  • Experience with Cisco Modelling Labs (CML) or Virtual Internet Routing Lab (VIRL).
  • Active U.S. Government DOD Secret Clearance.
