Medical Registrar

The Patient Registrar is the first point of contact for patients and the community, providing a high level of quality service and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Key responsibilities include processing patient registration, verifying demographics, and obtaining insurance cards and patient identification.

• Provides exceptional communication and customer service skills, greeting patients and the community in a respectful manner.
• Processes admission paperwork and basic insurance verification, ensuring accurate patient identity for hospital billing systems.
• Answers internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
• Maintains patient flow and informs Supervisor of any department and patient issues immediately.
• Coordinates and prioritizes bed placement needs to ensure prompt and appropriate placement of patients.

• High School Degree or GED.
• Prior experience in patient registration/healthcare preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9 coding is preferred but not required.
