Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Per Diem Nurse Assistant to join our team at North Mississippi Health Services. As a Per Diem Nurse Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate patient care activities on the nursing unit, ensuring seamless transitions and efficient care delivery.
- Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers, utilizing electronic patient tracking systems and medical records.
- Perform a variety of office, secretarial, and related duties to support the nursing unit, including managing intake and outbound documents, handling communications, and responding to patient requests.
- Provide routine patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, including activities of daily living, personal hygiene, grooming, mobility, and comfort.
- Coordinate daily patient care activities, assist nursing staff, and respond to patient requests and concerns.
- Assist patients with meeting nutritional needs, including feeding, providing fluids, and supplements.
- Order, stock, and replenish unit supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner, participating in budget preparation and financial responsibility.
- Communicate patient information, concerns, or issues to interdisciplinary team members, facilitating unit communication and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and employees in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Facilitate effective communication between disciplines, providing organized medical records and timely access to patient data.
- Maintain unit-specific records and reports, adhering to professional standards, behavioral standards, and hospital policies.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a nursing assistant or unit coordinator role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records and patient tracking systems.
Working Conditions:
This is a per diem position, with variable shifts and flexible scheduling. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a high level of patient contact and interaction.
