Pharmacy Production Technician

Award-winning specialty pharmacy seeking a Pharmacy Production Technician I to join our team of healthcare professionals.
Job SummaryWe are recruiting a Pharmacy Production Technician I to assist with dispensing, packing, and shipping medication orders as scheduled and in accordance with established procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Dispense, pack, and ship medication orders as scheduled and in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist with maintaining dispensing and shipping supplies, medication inventory, and perform assigned tasks for continued adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.
- Print patient-specific medication labels and related patient drug information sheets.
- Accurately pick, label, and dispense medication, administration supplies, and required materials for pharmacist review and quality assurance verification.
- Ensure the correct drug, correct dose, and correct patient match both the drug product and the drug label.
- Ensure proper cold-chain of refrigerated items.
- Prepare packages for shipment with designated packing materials in accordance with established standards to preserve medication integrity.
- Shipping includes sending prepared medication orders verified by a pharmacist to the patient/provider while appropriately utilizing drug manufacturer storage and accreditation standard guidelines.
- Accurately prepare and affix correct shipping label to each package.
- Document all order-related updates and tracking information into patient profiles utilizing the pharmacy's documentation tools.
- Perform daily queue checks to ensure all orders are shipped as promised.
- Communicate end of day pick-ups with Operations staff.
- Communicate holiday hours and closures to all couriers.
- Correctly stage medication orders at all times, according to ship date and medication-specific storage and handling requirements.
- When handling drugs designated as “hazardous,” adhere to established proper handling techniques.
- Assist with company inventory processes as directed.
- Ensure adherence to accreditation standards/objectives.
- Assist with daily and weekly cleaning of pharmacy workspace and equipment.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Conduct daily temperature monitoring.
- Replenish gel packs, coolers, and other shipping supplies into appropriate storage area(s).
- Ensure entry of needed data points for reporting purposes.
- Assist elsewhere in the pharmacy, when possible.
- Maintain active Oregon license.
- Inform supervisor within 1 business day (and Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 10 days) of any arrests, convictions, suspected or known violations of law, or any other conduct that might affect or has affected license status.
- Reports to Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 15 days any changes to name, residence address, or mailing address, email, phone, or employment.
- Actively participates and provides support as needed to leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company's quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed.
- Complies with the company's Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License or Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License.
- Experience in pharmacy practice or healthcare setting preferred.
Work is performed in a pharmacy environment, with extensive keyboard and computer work. Work also involves frequent moving of packaging, boxes, and items from different areas within the warehouse. Packaging supplies weighing 40 pounds are regularly moved from the freezer to workstations.
Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of the standard work week.
