Job Title: Echocardiography Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Echocardiography Technologist to join our team at Neighborhood Healthcare. As a key member of our echocardiography lab, you will be responsible for performing all types of echocardiography testing, assisting physicians in delivering safe and age-appropriate patient care, and working collaboratively with the care team to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform exercise and pharmacological transthoracic echocardiograms and stress echo tests per department and management guidelines
  • Capture digital cardiac images and perform measurements correctly, including recognizing pathology and/or customizing exams requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality
  • Respond to stat calls and reports life-threatening pathology to attending physician
  • Prepare echocardiogram procedure, including equipment, supplies, instruments, and appropriate paperwork
  • Participate in orientation of new employees, as needed
  • Monitor quality control of equipment and escalate issues, as needed
  • Participate in performance improvement activities that impact patient and service outcomes based on professional practice standards
Requirements:
  • High school diploma/GED required; associate's degree in cardiovascular technology preferred
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited cardiac ultrasound program required
  • Valid license in echocardiography from the Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Congenial Sonographer (RCCS) required
  • Registry eligible according to the ARDMS or CCI Standards required
  • Valid BLS certification from approved American Health Association provider required upon hire
  • One year echocardiogram experience required, two years' experience preferred
  • Experience performing echocardiography with echo machines from various manufacturers in the echo lab required

  • Strong written and oral communication, detail orientation, customer service, multitasking skills
  • Excellent basic computer skills
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Knowledgeable about and experience with
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent planning and organizational ability
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift/carry 20 lbs/weight
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time

Pay range: $44.66 per hour, depending on experience
