Masonry Journeyman Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Masonry Journeyman to join our team at Premier Building Restoration, Inc. in Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Job Summary

The Masonry Journeyman will perform masonry work to the company's standard of quality, under the direction of the Foreman, according to plans and specifications. This is a full-time labor-intensive role with opportunities for professional growth within the company.

Responsibilities
  • Perform masonry work to the company's standard of quality, under the direction of the Foreman, according to plans and specifications.
  • Maintain a safe work environment, reinforcing a 'safety first' attitude with the team.
  • Care for tools, equipment, materials, and job site.
  • Construct, alter, repair, and install structures made of block, stone, brick, and concrete utilizing hand tools and power tools of the masonry trade.
  • Select types of cement, plaster mortar, blocks, stone, or brick to be used.
  • Set stone, brick, and block applying knowledge of stress and strain and ratio of mixes and bonds.
  • Measure and cut stone, brick, and block according to specifications.
  • Read and interpret specifications, sketches, and/or blueprints as they pertain to masonry work.
  • Load and unload materials; erect and use scaffolding.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies, and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Requirements
  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces (may exceed 200 ft).
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
  • Must possess strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools, and layout tools as well as measurement tools.

Work Schedule

8-hour shift - Monday to Friday. Weekend availability.

Location

Philadelphia and surrounding areas.

Compensation

Hourly position commensurate with experience - $70,000 - $130,000 per year. Subject to variation due to such factors as licenses/certifications, experience, and skillset.
