Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. As a Controls Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems for our HVAC equipment. You will work closely with our engineering team to ensure that our systems meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems for HVAC equipment
  • Implement and test control systems to ensure they meet specifications and intended design
  • Interface with customers and other project stakeholders on technical issues related to controls
  • Provide training to internal and external customers on controls operation of HVAC equipment
  • Support field service department as needed on field-related controls issues
Requirements
  • Electrical/mechanical engineering degree, computer science degree, and/or technical diploma combined with HVAC controls programming experience
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following control technologies: Distech, CAREL, Tridium (Niagara), Johnson Controls, Siemens, Allen Bradley
  • Experience with controls communication protocols: BACnet and Modbus
  • Experience with DDCs/PLCs and BACnet/Modbus integrations
  • Experience with DDC programming languages: function block and structured text
  • Basic computer networking proficiency required, specifically with LANs, switches, and routers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-starting, ability to manage multiple tasks on strict deadlines
  • Commitment to continuous technical learning and personal development, both self-directed and under the guidance of others
  • Diligent with an eye for detail
  • Ability to accept assignments on short notice and perform under occasional stressful situations on tight deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with web programming languages JavaScript and HTML5
  • Experience with general-purpose programming languages such as C++, Visual Basic, or Python
  • Industry experience in controls and more specifically HVAC controls
