Sociology Instructor

The Department of Sociology at Western Washington University is seeking qualified candidates for a temporary non-tenure track teaching position in Sociology. This vacancy pool is open continuously and is used to fill part-time and occasional full-time teaching positions throughout the academic year and summer sessions.

• Teach undergraduate courses in Sociology, including introductory courses and upper-division electives.
• Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
• Advise students and provide guidance on academic and career-related matters.
• Participate in departmental and university service, including committee work and professional development activities.

• Ph.D. or ABD in Sociology or a closely related social science field.
• Demonstrated potential for excellent teaching in Sociology.
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to cultivating learning environments that are equitable and inclusive of students with diverse social identities and backgrounds.

• Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related discipline.
• Successful prior teaching experience.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Evidence of scholarship.
