Position Overview:

The MUI Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the Major Unusual Incident (MUI) unit. This role involves conducting thorough investigative and administrative reviews of incidents as outlined in the relevant administrative regulations. The supervisor will collaborate with law enforcement and external agencies to ensure compliance and effective response to incidents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the activities of Investigative Agents, ensuring that all reported allegations are assessed against MUI criteria.
  • Supervise MUI Investigators, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to enhance departmental effectiveness.
  • Ensure that the health and safety needs of at-risk individuals are prioritized and addressed promptly.
  • Review and consult on initial and final reports, making recommendations for health and welfare measures as necessary.
  • Facilitate appropriate notifications and ensure compliance with administrative regulations.
  • Provide expert consultation to Service Coordinators and service providers regarding follow-up actions for MUI incidents.
  • Conduct in-service training sessions on MUI regulations for various stakeholders, including agency staff and family members.
  • Maintain accurate records of MUI incidents and assist in statistical analysis to identify trends.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings to develop action plans based on identified patterns.
  • Monitor the implementation of goals for the MUI unit and participate in formal surveys as required.
  • Represent the organization in MUI-related court proceedings.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Possession of Investigative Agent Certification from the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to travel as needed.
  • Must meet insurability standards for driving.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
