POSITION SUMMARY:

The Masonry and Plastering Specialist is responsible for executing advanced masonry and plastering tasks, as well as overseeing the construction and maintenance of various structures. This role involves working with diverse masonry materials such as brick, stone, plaster, and concrete.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Constructs and repairs walls, partitions, and other structures using materials like stone, brick, and concrete blocks.
  • Interprets blueprints and specifications to accurately measure and mark work surfaces.
  • Prepares and mixes mortar for masonry applications.
  • Applies mortar to surfaces and aligns blocks or stones using precision tools.
  • Finishes mortar joints and smooths surfaces of concrete structures to achieve desired textures.
  • Handles the mixing and application of plaster for walls and ceilings, ensuring quality finishes.
  • Installs ceramic tiles on various surfaces, preparing the base as necessary.
  • Supervises and instructs team members in masonry and plastering techniques.
  • Conducts inspections of work in progress to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Travels as required for project needs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
  • Familiarity with tools and materials used in masonry and plastering.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions effectively.
  • Basic computer skills are advantageous.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Four years of hands-on experience in masonry under a qualified tradesperson, or a combination of experience and training through technical courses.

Alternatively, completion of a recognized masonry training program, including classroom instruction and on-the-job training.

All candidates must meet the age and educational requirements as specified.
