Job Title: Audit Senior

Are you a detail-oriented and analytical professional looking for a challenging role in public accounting? We are seeking an experienced Audit Senior to join our team at Smith, Elliott, Kearns & Company.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform diversified accounting and auditing assignments, including financial statement preparation and review.
  • Participate in client meetings, presentations, and proposal development to deliver high-quality services.
  • Prepare clear and concise work papers and perform various procedures established under GAAP to verify accuracy and validity of client financial matters.
  • Proactively interact with key client management to gather information, resolve accounting/audit-related issues, and make recommendations for business and process improvements.
  • Plan and execute day-to-day activities of audit engagements for nonprofit, governmental, and for-profit clients.
  • Invest time in business development to develop external relationships that will lead to additional opportunities for the firm.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Active CPA license or desire to attain CPA license.
  • 2-4 years' experience auditing with a public accounting firm.
  • Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills, including proficiency in US GAAP and GAAS.
  • Ability to reason intelligently and use sound judgment.
  • Professional demeanor towards duties and responsibilities, particularly with regard to independence, professional ethics, and the exercise of professional judgment.
  • Leadership experience and desire to participate in leadership opportunities.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
