Design Engineer - Injection Molding and Thermoforming

At Georg Utz Holding AG, we are seeking a talented and motivated Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing innovative injection molded and thermoformed products for the material handling and packaging industries.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead product development initiatives, encompassing the design and analysis of new products from conception to production, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and utilizing industry-standard software such as NX and Solidworks.
  • Create comprehensive and detailed drawings for both customer presentations and internal manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including tool design, quality assurance, manufacturing, and documentation control, to ensure seamless project execution and meet target cost, quality, and timeline objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth FEA and Mold Flow analyses to optimize product performance and manufacturability.
  • Spearhead the verification and validation of new designs, ensuring adherence to stringent quality standards.
  • Work closely with toolmakers to refine tool design specifications and obtain accurate quotes.
  • Provide expert troubleshooting support for prototypes and pre-production samples, identifying and resolving any technical challenges.
Your Qualifications
  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrate 1-2 years of proven experience in designing and manufacturing injection molded or thermoformed plastic parts, with a preference for experience in large product design.
  • Exhibit strong proficiency in NX, Team Center, and Solidworks software applications.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of injection mold design principles and practices.
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of common plastics and their inherent properties.
  • Showcase exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze engineering challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and prioritization.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear and concise technical presentations to clients.
  • A basic understanding of manufacturing automation is highly desirable.
  • Maintain a positive, team-oriented attitude and a strong desire for professional growth and success.
