Job Overview

We're seeking a Founding Middle School Teacher with a passion for creative problem-solving, emotional intelligence, and collaborative leadership. As an integral part of our founding team, you'll help establish our academic program, policies, and procedures while ensuring each student receives a high-quality, supportive education.

Responsibilities
  • Develop engaging lesson plans for core subjects, aligning with state standards and school curriculum.
  • Deliver dynamic lessons that foster critical thinking and social-emotional learning.
  • Use data and assessments to inform instruction and provide differentiated support to students.
  • Build positive classroom culture through consistent routines, clear expectations, and relationship building.
  • Serve as an advisory mentor to a group of 10-15 students, monitoring academic and social progress.
  • Partner with families through regular communication and cultivation of trust.
  • Contribute to the growth of the school through collaboration, reflection, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of teaching experience at the middle school level.
  • Knowledge of effective instructional methods and behavior management strategies.
  • Strong content expertise in core subjects (ELA, math, science, social studies, physical education).
  • A commitment to social-emotional learning and whole child development.
  • A growth mindset and passion for shaping school culture and norms.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • TN Teacher's Licensure.
