Job Summary

The Clinical Lead RN Endoscopy Full Time Days position is a key role in the Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital team, responsible for assisting the nurse manager/director in coordinating, directing, and evaluating patient care, unit activities, and staff performance on an assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supports, evaluates, prioritizes, and supervises patient care and unit needs during assigned shift.
  • Serves as designee for unit matters in nurse manager/director absence.
  • Makes assignments for staff to meet patient care needs and for incoming patients.
  • Makes patient assignments and delegates unit-specific task assignments to ensure patient care and unit needs are met.
  • Evaluates staffing by considering mix of caregivers, patient volumes (current and anticipated), patient acuity, and staff availability.
  • Demonstrates timely and effective communication skills in daily interactions with team members and others.
Performance Improvement/Quality
  • Seeks to proactively improve quality of services provided and patient care outcomes.
  • Serves as unit champion and resource to staff for quality and patient safety initiatives and issues.
  • Effectively uses change management methods to support improvement activities.
  • Serves as role model for exceptional customer service and facilitates and actively participates in service recovery efforts during the shift on unit.
  • Provides professional/technical/clinical/coaching support for nursing associates.
  • Assists and actively participates with nurse manager/director with quality projects and staff annual performance evaluations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Valid current Arizona Nursing License.
  • Required in area of clinical specialty within 3 years from ANCC or other approved credentialing entity (e.g., critical care: CCRN).
  • Must have functioned in an RN role for a minimum of 1 year clinical experience required. 1 year of ICU experience required (prefer Neuro ICU exp).
  • Use of general patient care equipment and communication equipment; use of unit-specific equipment (clinical and general).
  • Ability to adapt to changes in healthcare technology and support others in transition and learning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
