Position Overview

Role: Utility Worker

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver cleaning services in commercial, industrial, or residential settings, coupled with a strong work ethic.

Experience Requirements

  • Familiarity with cleaning tools and equipment, showcasing a history of relevant cleaning experience, ideally within a significant organization, alongside a robust work ethic.

Core Responsibilities

  • The primary duty of the Utility Worker is to maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the facility in line with contractual obligations.

Specific Duties (This list is not exhaustive; additional tasks may be assigned as necessary, or certain tasks may be prioritized as your main responsibility.)

  • Disassembling steel cube walls.
  • Removing non-permanent walls.
  • Dismantling office furniture.
  • Palletizing furniture and equipment for transport.
  • Emptying trash bins in designated areas according to daily schedules. Performing detailed cleaning tasks, including floor maintenance. Executing standard janitorial duties such as dusting, vacuuming, sanitizing, waxing, buffing, and stripping floors, as well as cleaning restrooms, common areas, and windows.
  • Wiping down all surfaces, including tabletops, fixtures, file cabinets, desks, dividers, partitions, elevator doors, entry doors, walls, to ensure cleanliness as per daily schedules.
  • Cleaning and maintaining restrooms, dormitories, gyms, offices, lobbies, hallways, classrooms, and manufacturing spaces according to daily work plans.
  • Restocking supplies in restrooms and ensuring cleanliness of all shelves and surfaces.
  • Ensuring that all glass surfaces, mirrors, and both interior and exterior doors are free from smudges, stains, and moisture.
  • Vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping designated areas daily or as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Capable of standing and moving within the assigned work area for 6 to 7 hours (excluding breaks).
  • Some bending, stooping, and reaching required.

Additional Duties

  • Familiarity with the employee handbook, hazard communication protocols, bloodborne pathogen procedures, and all safety policies.
  • Participation in monthly safety training sessions.
