Job Title: Foundry Quality Control Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Foundry Quality Control Specialist to join our team at Farrar Corporation. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in our foundry operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and process iron tensile bars for testing and inspection
  • Conduct hardness tests (BHN) on castings and tensile bars
  • Perform sand tests for permeability, hardness, and properties
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation for foundry operations
  • Support laboratory and chemical processes for making iron
  • Collaborate with machine shop quality team for vacations and time away from work
  • Sign off on shipments to customers and/or next process
  • Participate in scrap review with Quality Assurance Manager and foundry team
  • Familiarity with quality inspection gauges and equipment
  • Identify and recommend outside services for quality processes
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Manufacturing background or experience preferred
  • Knowledge of ISO 9000 and quality control principles preferred
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Work Schedule:
  • 40 hour weeks
  • Flexible start time
  • Typical schedule: Monday – Thursday 6:00 to 4:30; overtime as needed
