Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Dance Instructor to join our Recreation Services team. As a Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and instructing recreation activities for children aged 4-17.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and submit lesson plans, including class content and material needs.
  • Lead organized activities to develop and strengthen youth academic, recreational, and social skills.
  • Plan lessons and activities to accommodate students with various abilities.
  • Requisition supplies and/or purchase program supplies within City guidelines.
  • Evaluate and provide constructive feedback on activities, camps, and events.
  • Conduct safe and engaging class meetings, instructing students on the proper use of supplies, tools, and equipment.
  • Participate in cleaning and maintaining facilities and equipment.
  • Interact professionally and appropriately with parents, students, and staff.
  • Communicate with supervisors regarding classroom needs.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Different program areas may require varying skills and knowledge.
  • One school year of teaching experience.
  • At least one year of experience working with children in an academic setting.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Selection Process

Qualified applicants will be evaluated based on related experience and quality of presentation. The most highly qualified applicants will be invited to an oral interview. Applicant evaluations may include a written and physical test. Satisfactory candidates will be placed on an eligibility list.
