Position Summary

This role involves administering respiratory therapy treatments, conducting procedures, and performing assessments, including floor therapy, oxygen delivery, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and fundamental pulmonary function tests. The specialist will operate in designated areas of the healthcare facility as instructed by supervisory staff. The individual will be responsible for evaluating and documenting patient responses to therapy.

Qualifications

  • Education
  • Required: Enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care Program, successful completion of a Pharmacology Course, and completion of one clinical semester focused on respiratory medication and therapeutic techniques.
  • Preferred: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
  • Experience
  • No previous experience is necessary.
  • Skills
  • Ability to provide care tailored to the age of the patient population.
  • Competence in safely administering all standard and emergency respiratory treatments.
  • Capability to assess patients and deliver care according to established protocols.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate electronic health records.
  • Skilled in providing education to patients, trainees, and new staff members.
  • Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Required: BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Required: MBRC Education Permit.
