Animal Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Animal Health Nurse to join our team at the ASPCA. As a key member of our Community Medicine team, you will play a critical role in providing expert veterinary care to animals in need.
Key Responsibilities- Care for cats, dogs, and rabbits in spay/neuter surgery, administering injections, intubating animals, and monitoring vital signs.
- Provide treatments and supportive care according to CM Standard Operating Procedures and as directed by attending Veterinarian.
- Assist with patient exams, take medical history, perform diagnostic testing, and prepare medications for clients.
- Maintain controlled substance drug logs and patient records, and stay current in knowledge of emergency drugs and protocols.
- Work with coworkers to clean and disinfect animal areas, equipment, instruments, and facility while utilizing personal protective equipment.

- Current California State Veterinary Technician License (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment).
- Excellent animal handling skills, with the ability to work efficiently and calmly under challenging conditions.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and the ability to use electronic medical records systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish) strongly preferred.
