Job Summary

Labor and Delivery Travel Nurses provide care and support for women before, during, and after delivery of a baby. As an L&D RN, you'll be responsible for ensuring the medical and emotional needs of your patients are met throughout the birthing process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor patients throughout labor and assist with breathing techniques.
  • Check the cervix periodically to monitor progression and dilation.
  • Ensure beds are kept clean and dry, and clean up bodily fluids before and after the birthing process.
  • Aid physicians with drapes, gloves, gowns, delivery instruments, and provide immediate care of the newborn.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should be able to stand and walk for long periods, bend, lean, and stoop without difficulty. You should also be able to lift 20 pounds easily and up to 50 pounds at times. Good stress-coping skills and the ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds are essential.

Requirements: ACLS, BLS, 3 Years of experience. Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
