Job Summary:

As a Radiologic Technologist at Peoples Health Centers Family of Companies, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients. Your expertise will be essential in operating x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts, ensuring diagnostic quality as set by radiologists and community standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Position patients for each anatomical view using necessary immobilization and protective equipment.
Accurately process images for optimal quality, matching with appropriate paperwork for acceptable film quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors, and established procedures.
Perform safety checks and quality control procedures on equipment, reporting malfunctions to the appropriate person(s).
Maintain required department records, reports, and files necessary to ensure proper diagnosis and treatment.

Additional Duties:

Maintain film libraries, ensuring safety in the department and patient privacy throughout procedures.
Answer telephones, make reminder calls to scheduled patients, and coordinate services with off-site agencies.
Maintain cleanliness of the department and its equipment, providing patients, physicians, and others with proper instructions for preparation of examinations.
Assist Sonographers and Technologists with exams as requested, providing education and training to participating students from affiliated radiology technical programs.
Manage time to ensure patient flow and visit timeliness within the department, participating in annual department time studies.
Check for and obtain proper consents and/or referrals for procedures performed, ensuring that a radiologist interprets all exams in a timely manner.
Maintain radiation safety regulations and dosimeter badge requirements, functioning within the legal and ethical parameters of the profession as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and according to the policies of Peoples Health Centers, Inc.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software and Word Processing software. Proficient with computer use: BCA system, Microsoft Word, and Infinity EMR/EHR.

Certifications and Licenses:

Certification by the American Registry of Radiology Technology (AART) and Certified or eligible for Advanced Mammography Qualifications.
