Meteorologist

Weigel Broadcasting Co. is a leading media company based in Chicago, Illinois, with a strong presence in the multicast television network space. The company owns and operates national television networks, as well as local broadcast stations throughout the country.

The Broadcast Meteorologist will be responsible for developing inventive weather forecasts for highly active weather markets, creating on-air graphics for clear and easy-to-understand weather presentations, and live reporting of weather-related events.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver weather forecasts for high-activity weather markets
• Create engaging on-air graphics for weather presentations
• Conduct live reporting of weather-related events
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• On-site work required; remote work is not available
• BA/BS in Journalism, Communications, Meteorology, or related field
• Comprehensive understanding of weather computers and software for dynamic storytelling
• Strong digital presence
• Knowledge of WSI weather systems preferred
• Experience with photography and editing preferred
