JOB SUMMARY:
The Material Handler is tasked with facilitating both internal and external customer needs through precise receiving, stocking, delivery, and shipment of materials. Furthermore, the Material Handler is responsible for operating all material handling equipment and executing all material support functions, such as shipping, receiving, and delivering to production lines within the designated Operations facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are not exhaustive and additional responsibilities may be assigned:
- Executing all facets of the material movement and handling process related to the stock replenishment system for the assigned work area.
- Selecting parts and raw materials, delivering components, containers, fixtures, tools, etc., to their designated points of use.
- Loading and unloading trucks utilizing material handling equipment.
- Accepting incoming loads and accurately receiving materials into the system.
- Conducting precise inventory counts.
- Inspecting materials upon receipt to ensure conformity and that they are undamaged.
- Organizing stock into designated storage locations.
- Documenting location and quantity of inventory using Handheld Scanners or Computer Terminals.
- This role may require outdoor work for extended durations.
- Upholding a positive work attitude and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Guiding and training new team members on processes and facility layout.
- Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment in accordance with safety protocols, regulations, and proper 6S standards.
- Regular attendance is essential.
- Performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Capability to perform basic arithmetic (addition and subtraction).
- Proficiency in reading and comprehending date codes, Bills of Lading, pallet tickets, etc.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior experience with MS Windows, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience operating a tow motor or forklift.
- Six months or more of material handling experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards Enterprise One or similar Enterprise Resource Systems.
- Experience in shipping and receiving within a warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience operating an overhead bridge crane or jib crane.
