Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of Allen. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining the interior of our buildings and facilities, ensuring they are safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the interior of facilities by repairing floors, bathroom fixtures, water fountains, pumps, doors, and hardware, painting, and other general maintenance activities.
  • Complete electrical work requests by replacing lights, ballasts, light switches, and electric plugs, making extension cords, installing security cameras and systems, and performing preventative maintenance of electrical systems.
  • Complete plumbing work requests by replacing flush valve kits, bowl wax, and faucets, unclogging drains and commodes, and performing preventative maintenance on plumbing systems.
  • Provide assistance to various departments by delivering furniture and supplies, assembling furniture and workstations, installing electrical and computer lines in workstations, setting up for meetings and events, and picking up and delivering mail.
  • Complete basic HVAC repairs/pump repair by installing filters, cleaning condensers, troubleshooting equipment, and performing preventative maintenance on HVAC systems.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of facility maintenance or related experience, or equivalent.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Class C driver's license.
