About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team at Pyramid Global Hospitality. As a Banquet Captain, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of banquet functions, providing exceptional service to our guests, and contributing to the success of our events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise food and beverage service to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
  • Assist with the planning, organizing, and execution of all banquet functions.
  • Supervise banquet rooms set-up and clean-up.
  • Speak at roll call meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations.
  • Supervise general cleaning tasks using standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
  • Abide by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Check with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary for any minute changes.
  • Break down to include bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, vacuuming.
  • Responsibilities also include cleaning of the back hall and organizing of storerooms.
  • Set up for AM or PM break stations that include coffee, tea, snacks, beverages, etc.
  • Serve food and beverages to guests.
  • Remove dishes, glasses, silverware, or other items from tables/counter tops and take them to the kitchen.
  • Clean and sanitize tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finished.
  • Explain how various menu items are prepared, cooking methods, and ingredients.
  • Take into consideration any special requests and dietary issues made by the guest.
  • Provide general property information.
  • Offer a warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests.
  • Interact with staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
  • Ensure final quality check on food and beverage items prior to serving guests.
  • Monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality, and additional service.
  • Address any guest issue promptly and with high concern.
  • Aid other events and restaurant staff as needed.
  • Maintain constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks, and suspicious persons).
  • Update any and all Banquet Checks daily from each function to ensure proper billing.
  • Send electronically end-of-day reports to the Banquet Management Team and Event Manager for each function.
  • Work closely with outside vendors and event coordinators to ensure all communication regarding the event is up to date and understood between both parties.
  • Ensure that you always keep the business financial benefit a priority.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of food service experience, preferably banquet service.
  • Experience in a 4-star, 5-star venue with synchronized service.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Compensation

The compensation for this position is $16.00/Hr. - $16.00/Hr. based on qualifications and experience.
