Agronomist for Corn Production

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced agronomist to join our team as an Extension Corn Agronomist. This is a tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at NC State University.

• Provide comprehensive support to corn producers, county agents, crop consultants, and other stakeholders in the field corn industry.
• Collaborate with existing corn research and Extension faculty at NC State University to develop cutting-edge research and deliver technical training to producers and county agents.
• Troubleshoot production problems and offer practical solutions.
• Build relationships that strengthen the field corn production industry.

• Co-teach three undergraduate courses: CS 118/218, CS 218, and CS 590.

• PhD in agronomy, crop science, or a closely related discipline.
• In-depth knowledge of corn agronomy, including soil science, crop management, and sustainable agriculture practices.
• Ability to design and conduct applied research in corn agronomy.
• Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting field data to develop actionable agronomic recommendations.

• Minimum of five years of Extension and applied research experience in U.S. corn production.
• Experience with small and large scale applied research.
• Experience with emerging research and farm technology.
