Position Overview:
As a vital member of the imaging team, the MRI Imaging Specialist operates advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging technology to generate high-quality diagnostic images of various anatomical structures. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of imaging protocols and patient care, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to Kaiser Permanente's policies and relevant regulations while delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Conduct thorough patient interviews to explain MRI procedures, gather medical history, and assess for any contraindications.
  • Position patients accurately to achieve the best imaging results, utilizing appropriate coils and equipment.
  • Adjust imaging parameters to enhance image quality, including field of view, slice thickness, and acquisition settings.
  • Identify and rectify any artifacts or issues that may affect image clarity and diagnostic utility.
  • Document all clinical activities meticulously, ensuring compliance with departmental standards.

Qualifications:


Experience:

Minimum of two years of clinical experience as a Radiologic Technologist, with at least six months in MRI within an acute care setting.


Education:

Completion of an accredited radiological technology program recognized by the American Medical Association and the American College of Radiology, along with specialized training in MRI.


Licensure and Certification:

Current Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California) and certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, along with Basic Life Support certification.


Additional Skills:

Demonstrated knowledge of MRI principles, patient safety, and anatomy, with the ability to adapt techniques based on individual patient needs.


Preferred Experience:

Two years of MRI experience in a hospital environment, familiarity with GE MRI systems, and advanced certification in MRI.


Work Schedule:

This position requires flexibility in scheduling, with variable shifts and the possibility of on-call duties.
