Urban Economist

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Urban Economist to join our team at the City of Reno. The successful candidate will have a strong background in economic analysis and policy development, with a focus on urban planning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct economic analysis and research to inform urban planning and development decisions
• Develop and implement economic development strategies to promote economic growth and stability in the City
• Collaborate with city officials, stakeholders, and community groups to develop and implement policies and programs that support economic development
• Provide technical assistance and support to city departments and agencies on economic development-related issues

Requirements:

• Master's degree in economics, urban planning, or a related field
• 4+ years of experience in economic analysis and policy development, with a focus on urban planning and development
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex economic concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with city officials, stakeholders, and community groups
