We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Morning Direct Support Professional to join our team at YAI. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily support and assistance with activities of daily living, such as showering, toileting, and eating.
- Assist with ambulation, including the use of walkers and wheelchairs, as needed.
- Observe and respond to individuals' communication needs, using verbal and non-verbal cues.
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- High School Diploma or GED; some college education is a plus.
- Valid Driver's License, with a preference for NY State licensure.
- Work or life experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Ability to participate in paid NYS Mandated OPWDD initial trainings during normal business hours upon hire.
- Tuberculosis test is mandatory for most positions (provided FREE of charge by our Premier HealthCare clinic).
