Job Summary
This position contributes to the production environment of our facility by performing multiple roles throughout the plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, production areas, and facilities, adhering to company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
• Completes the prescribed duties of Sanitation Specialist, including equipment plant clean-up in the event of absence and/or lack of work assignments.
• Flushes out, washes, and sanitizes all processing equipment, pumps, blenders, and transfer lines or production machine blocks, hoppers, feed tubes, hoses, kitchen equipment, and filling machines.
• Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes all filling equipment, including hoppers, feed tubes, vibrator feeders, drop tubes, filler hoppers, and augers.
• Uses extreme caution when disassembling fillers, pumps, and valves, ensuring not to drop or incorrectly reassemble those parts.
• Checks the seals and gaskets for wear and/or damage, replacing them when necessary.
• Follows the master sanitation schedule as instructed by the supervisor and adheres to company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Code of Safe Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and lockout/tagout procedures and chemical manufacturer's solution make-up formula.
• Reports all equipment malfunctions and/or system differences immediately to the supervisor or manager.
• Completes work in the assigned area in the prescribed time, ensuring compliance to quality, 5S, food safety, OSHA, and HACCP support programs.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in an industrial environment handling sanitizing chemicals and non-toxic food products desired.
• Training in forklift and pallet jack operation preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend instruction sheets provided with cleaning chemicals, strong mechanical aptitude helpful.
• Passing score on a written test required.
• Ability to work cooperatively with a team and maintain a safe working environment.

Working Conditions
• Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, and bend while moving about the facility.
• Must be able to move 75 pounds 25 feet or more and stand for a 10-hour shift (sometimes longer) with two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute meal period.
• May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
