Position Overview:

The role involves delivering nursing care and treatment to patients within the medical office, as guided by Physicians, Advanced Clinical Providers, Registered Nurses, or supervising department managers, encompassing the following responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties:
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist during procedures.
  • Administer injections and medications, dress wounds, provide clear and consistent information to patients following established protocols, interpret Physician's instructions, assist with emergency and minor procedures, and perform related tasks as required.
  • Vaccination Duties:
    1. Conduct daily counts and reconciliation of vaccines.
    2. Ensure accuracy in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) with NCIR documentation for each visit.
    3. Perform vaccine audits.
    4. Receive and stock newly delivered vaccines, registering them according to NCIR guidelines.
  • Gather patient data and maintain records of vital statistics and physiological/biological information in the EMR system.
  • Implement standardized check-in procedures in daily operations.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment, while maintaining inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Order supplies as necessary for the department.
  • Conduct specified laboratory tests as required.
  • Administer nebulized breathing treatments.
  • Serve as receptionist, performing clerical duties, which may include communication with insurance companies and processing prescriptions.
  • Complete orders from physicians or advanced practice clinicians upon request.
  • Fill out necessary school, sports, or daycare forms.
  • Communicate with managed care for prior authorizations and schedule procedures as needed.
  • Respond to and triage patient phone calls and messages appropriately.
  • Educate and instruct patients and their families regarding medications and treatment plans.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice for their license/certification.
Qualifications:

Required:

LPNs:
  • Active NC or Compact LPN License.
  • Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing Program.
General Requirements:
  • BLS/CPR Certification.
  • Availability for 8-8 weekdays and 8-5 weekends on a rotational basis, subject to managerial discretion.
  • Weekend rotations and holiday shifts are mandatory.
  • Full-time availability is essential.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of clinical experience.
  • Experience in phlebotomy.
