Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Neurology Veterinary Technician to join our team at ACCESS South Bay, a part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our mission.

About the Role

This full-time position involves providing end-to-end care for patients, including hands-on care, facilitating outpatient treatments, and performing laboratory tests. You will also be responsible for support services such as admitting and discharging patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong client communication skills, with the ability to obtain histories, present treatment plans, and provide client education on complex disease processes.

Responsibilities:
  • • Strong client communication skills are essential, enabling technicians to obtain histories, present treatment plans, review discharge instructions and medications, and provide client education on more complex disease processes treated by Internal Medicine
    • Anesthetic induction (RVTs) and monitoring of sensitive and potentially critically ill patients for advanced diagnostic procedures (CT, endoscopy, bone marrow aspirates, joint taps, and more)
    • Monitor and perform treatments for patients requiring intensive management, recognize significant changes in the patient's condition, and notify the Doctor.
    • Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
    • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
    • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
    • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
    • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • • Veterinary technician licensure required
    • 1-2 years of clinical experience
    • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program preferred; or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

$20 - $36 per hour, depending on experience and skills assessment
Full-time schedule: Wednesday through Saturday, 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
