The Staff Nurse III - Perioperative Performance Improvement is a key role in ensuring the highest quality patient care in the perioperative setting. This position requires a registered nurse with a strong background in clinical nursing practice, leadership, and quality improvement. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing professional nursing care to patients, functioning independently as a practitioner, and demonstrating superior problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care as needed, utilizing advanced clinical nursing skills and knowledge of perioperative care.
- Function independently as a practitioner, making decisions and taking actions to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate unit-level quality management and performance improvement activities.
- Develop and implement processes to resolve clinical problems, including PI projects.
- Monitor and evaluate care and practice for self and others, collecting data to ensure effectiveness of interventions.
- Coordinate unit staffing and scheduling based on established standards, ensuring optimal utilization of resources.
- Facilitate efficient patient throughput, including appropriate bed placement based on diagnosis, acuity, and staffing requirements.
- Ensure discharge planning occurs in collaboration with case management and area management.
- Function as a clinical coach, serving as a resource for other clinical coaches and area preceptors.
- Participate in planning orientation and development of staff.
- Support consistent regulatory readiness for the unit/area via rounding, counseling/coaching, and monitoring.
- Current Indiana License as a Registered Nurse.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited college or university.
- Current BLS certification.
- Current ACLS certification.
- Additional certifications and specialty skills related to designated area of practice.
- Minimum of three to five years of clinical nursing experience as a registered nurse.
- BSN preferred.
