The YMCA of Metro Atlanta is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Junior Lifeguard. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and positive atmosphere in our pool area, ensuring the well-being of our members and guests.

• Active surveillance of the pool area to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment
• Knowledge and adherence to emergency procedures, including responding to emergency situations and completing related reports
• Maintenance of accurate records as required by the YMCA and/or the state health department code
• Support of equipment checks and ensuring appropriate equipment is available as needed
• Identification and reporting of hazardous conditions in the pool area

• Minimum age of 15
• Certifications: Basic life support or professional rescuer CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration
• Current Lifeguard Certification
• Ability to maintain certification-level physical and mental readiness
• Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards

• Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment

• See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility

• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship
