This position requires on-site presence for five days a week.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will collaborate closely with the accounting team on various aspects of financial reporting. Core duties include:

  • Executing month-end closing processes, including preparing cash, undeposited, sales, and prepaid entries.
  • Creating reconciliations to support reported figures.
  • Recording all cash transactions for designated bank accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
  • Conducting monthly account reconciliations to verify accuracy and promptly address discrepancies.
  • Documenting sales adjustments, merchant fees, and undeposited entries.
  • Preparing entries for the monthly amortization of prepaid expenses.
  • Analyzing general ledger activities to ensure the completeness and accuracy of prepaid expenses.
  • Reviewing invoices to determine the correct periods for amortization.
  • Collaborating with the Accounts Payable team to ensure accurate recording of prepaid invoices.
  • Managing the prepaid roll forward for various service fees.
  • Maintaining the foreign exchange rates workbook.
  • Assisting with audit requests and annual inventory counts.
  • Taking on additional projects as needed to support the accounting team.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in private or public accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Experience with a Big 4 or national accounting firm is preferred but not mandatory.
First Year Goals

Within the first year, you will be expected to:

  • Foster effective communication and teamwork within the department.
  • Maintain high accuracy in cash transaction recording and reconciliation.
  • Accurately record all prepaid amortization entries.
  • Master the recording of sales adjustments and merchant fees.
  • Complete assigned audit requests in a timely manner.
