South Brunswick Twp, United States International Flavors and Fragrances Full time

Requisition ID: 498512

Job Overview

International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) is seeking a skilled Raw Materials Procurement Manager to enhance our operations at our South Brunswick, NJ facility. This site specializes in the production of flavor ingredients utilized in a wide array of consumer products globally.

The Regional Procurement Manager will be tasked with formulating and executing a strategy to source a competitive and cost-efficient portfolio of raw materials across all manufacturing sites within the region. This portfolio will encompass regionally sourced materials, leveraging a unified supply base and similar market dynamics. The individual will be responsible for managing raw material expenses and the overall performance of their portfolio, which includes defining the sourcing strategy and establishing strategic objectives while optimizing supplier relationships. The role necessitates the management of key supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with IFF's business goals, and participating in Category teams to synchronize sourcing strategies with global, regional, and local business requirements. This position involves extensive external engagement with suppliers and a profound understanding of market dynamics. Additionally, it requires significant internal collaboration with critical functions such as Regulatory, R&D, Quality, Creation & Application, Commercial, and Technical Program leads. This role is integral to advancing key company, functional, and regional business strategies and cost-saving initiatives, which directly influence IFF's profitability.

The responsibilities will include achieving year-over-year savings in raw material costs, enhancing working capital efficiency, developing suppliers, implementing sustainability initiatives, and collaborating with suppliers to propel IFF's innovation efforts. The individual will serve as a vital business partner across the organization, supporting initiatives to meet the company's strategic goals. The scope of this position includes effective product and competitive market intelligence to dynamically assess IFF's competitive edge, particularly in validating our product offerings while evaluating product differentiators and inherent quality/regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate regional category strategies for assigned categories (grains, sweeteners, and commodity oils) and sub-categories to ensure raw material availability, manage costs, and realize savings. Implement strategies within the region, driving results and achieving strategic objectives.
  • Apply IFF's strategic sourcing methodology with discipline.
  • Understand and implement the principles of Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) within the category and region.
  • Enhance raw material quality and service through collaboration with Creation & Application, Operations, and Quality to support corporate service, sustainability, and quality objectives.
  • Maintain impactful communication with stakeholders, advocating for regional spending.
  • Provide weekly updates on market trends, supply issues, and pricing information to Regional Directors and supply managers.
  • Reduce working capital through payment term negotiations and collaboration with the Planning group on vendor-managed inventory and vendor-based planning initiatives.
  • Coordinate with the Responsible Sourcing Team on supplier and ingredient risk assessments, ensuring assigned suppliers complete Ecovadis and/or SEDEX evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Science/Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven expertise in procurement within the relevant area, with in-depth product knowledge and connections in key supply markets.
  • Experience in supply chain operations concerning raw materials, suppliers, supplier relationship management, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of business practices and financial concepts/impact/analyses.
  • Excellent interpersonal, project management, and presentation skills, with people management experience for positions with direct reports.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree; MBA, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • Experience in identifying, developing, and nurturing new and existing supplier relationships.
  • Ability to engage cross-functionally (R&D, Commercial, Creation, Production, Quality, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) in English, with a focus on global interaction.
  • Team leadership, project management, and analytical capabilities.
