Job Title: Crop Production Manager

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Develop annual budgets for field, crop, and unit inputs, ensuring optimal resource allocation and cost management.
  • Optimize crop production for yield and quality, overseeing various crops such as alfalfa, beans, beets, potatoes, corn, squash, watermelon, and pumpkins, to maximize revenue and minimize waste.
  • Maintain and enhance farmland productivity sustainably, through the implementation of best practices and innovative techniques.
  • Collaborate with Irrigation Foreman to ensure proper water application, minimizing waste and maximizing crop health.
  • Create pre-season plans for all field activities, ensuring seamless execution and optimal crop growth.
  • Monitor yield, quality, and production costs for efficiency and revenue maximization, making data-driven decisions to drive business growth.
  • Recruit and supervise personnel, ensuring proper planting of crops and maintaining a high level of crop quality.
  • Scout crops for water, fertility, pests, and weeds, taking necessary actions to prevent damage and ensure optimal crop health.
  • Record all crop inputs and applications, maintaining accurate and detailed records for future reference.
  • Communicate with landowners and coordinate farm equipment activities, ensuring smooth operations and minimizing downtime.
  • Attend management meetings and provide feedback aligned with company goals, contributing to the overall success of the organization.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with computers and technology, utilizing software and systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Handle other assigned projects and duties, as required, to support the success of the company.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in the agricultural industry, with a focus on crop production and management.
  • 3-5 years of experience with irrigation systems, particularly pivot systems, to ensure optimal water application and crop health.
  • Availability for long hours during planting and harvest seasons, to ensure seamless execution and optimal crop growth.
