Compensation: $40.50 per hour

This salary range serves as a baseline and will vary based on experience, licensure, and progression through our CareerTrax leveling system.

Note: Candidates with VTS certification may qualify for enhanced compensation based on their expertise.

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, your responsibilities will include:

  • Administering, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia in patients while utilizing anesthesia and monitoring equipment effectively.
  • Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including taking vital signs such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure.
  • Executing digital radiography with proper techniques, ensuring accurate patient positioning.
  • Understanding normal ranges for patient vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation.
  • Obtaining and interpreting vital signs, promptly notifying the Veterinarian of any changes or concerns.
  • Identifying patients at risk of cardiac arrest and initiating CPR as necessary.
  • Calculating medical dosages accurately and administering medications through appropriate routes and durations.
  • Performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels proficiently.
  • Placing and maintaining feeding tubes and central line catheters.
  • Mentoring and training fellow team members with enthusiasm.
  • Exhibiting patience and empathy while addressing client inquiries.
