Radiologic Technologist V- Cardiac Cath Specialist

As a Radiologic Technologist V- Cardiac Cath, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, including fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Explain procedures to patients, reducing anxieties and obtaining cooperation.
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures, adjusting immobilization devices as needed.
- Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and body area, ensuring proper detail, density, and accuracy.
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patient bedsides.
- Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians, processing and reviewing for proper identification and quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Orient new hires and train students, filling in as necessary in the absence of the Supervising Radiology Technologist.
- Minimum of two years of experience in two specialties (IR and CCL) or one year of experience in each specialty with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in each specialty.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California), Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California), Certified Radiologic Technologist - Mammography Certificate (California), and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) required.
- Basic Life Support and ACLS (when required for the position).
