As an Optometric Technician at National Vision, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining a professional atmosphere within our doctor's office and pretest room.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure high-quality patient care by maintaining accurate records and performing necessary testing prior to the doctor's examination.
  • Exercise professional judgment and discretion when reviewing patient information and identifying special needs, consulting with the optician, Doctor, or Retail Management when necessary.
  • Stay up-to-date on ocular terminology and diseases, as well as ocular abbreviations, to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues.
  • Participate in promoting visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients, and ensure equipment is properly maintained to support these efforts.

Creating a Positive Patient Experience

As an Optometric Technician, you will have the opportunity to work closely with patients to explain the types of preliminary examinations and promote a smooth and efficient experience. Your strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively will be essential in delivering exceptional patient care and building trust with our patients.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
