About the Position:
The Perioperative RN Trainee role is a vital component of our healthcare team at Huntsville Hospital. This full-time position is designed for individuals enrolled in a specialized internal training program. The program spans six months and is meticulously crafted by AORN to equip registered nurses with the necessary skills to function as surgery circulators in the Operating Room (OR).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient needs and deliver comprehensive care throughout the surgical process.
- Plan and delegate nursing care effectively.
- Execute physician orders and evaluate patient responses to interventions.
This role involves significant physical activity, including walking and standing for extended periods, as well as the potential for lifting, pushing, and pulling weights ranging from 20 to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with a valid Alabama RN license.
- Previous experience is preferred; however, new graduates are encouraged to apply.
- No disciplinary actions within the past year at Huntsville Health System.
- BLS certification is mandatory prior to the completion of the orientation period.
