Aircraft Painter Job SummaryAircraft Painter is responsible for the painting and sealing of aircraft and its sub-assemblies, including surface preparation, masking, and chemical handling. This role requires attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces for painting or sealing using abrasives, solvents, and brushes.
- Install masking for strips or other aircraft painting details.
- Mix and apply paint or coatings, ensuring compliance with technical and quality requirements.
- Perform sealant application, adhering to technical and quality standards.
- Apply logos, symbols, or designs on painted surfaces, following blueprint specifications.
- Ensure the use of appropriate technical references and tools in performing paint and sealing duties.
- Clean and maintain painting or sealing equipment.
- Set up ladders and scaffolding according to regulations and aircraft requirements.
- Comply with Federal and local environmental and OSHA/TOSHA regulations.
Requirements:
- High School or GED equivalent.
- 3-5 years of experience in a related field, preferably in aeronautical environments.
- Knowledge of preparation and painting of aircraft, support equipment, and allied components.
- Safety procedures for chemical handling.
- Knowledge of blueprints and painting diagrams.
- Strong ability in paint spraying.
- Understanding of technical management and quality assurance procedures.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work in a safe professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Must be able to wear a respirator, as required by the position.
- Ability to work flexible hours and different shifts, if required.
