Recreation Therapist Job Description

Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center is seeking a skilled Recreation Therapist to provide services to residents. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Activity/Recreation Therapy, Art Therapy, or Music Therapy with a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreation/activity programming for residents.
  • Plan and lead therapeutic groups and programs to meet individual needs.
  • Assess and document resident behavior progress and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Maintain communication with staff, parents, and local education agencies.
  • Participate in professional development activities and display a high degree of professionalism.
Requirements:
  • Current CTRS certification.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Management Certification.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Physical ability to assist restraining residents when necessary.
