Central Health is seeking a board-certified physician in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine to lead our Pre-Operative Assessment and Medical Optimization Programs. This role requires a deep understanding of various medical conditions, their impact on surgical outcomes, and strategies for optimizing patients' health preoperatively.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough preoperative assessments to identify patients at risk for perioperative complications
- Develop and implement individualized medical optimization plans to improve patient outcomes
- Collaborate with specialists, pharmacists, and dietitians to provide comprehensive care
- Provide patient education on preoperative optimization, medication regimens, and perioperative expectations
- Communicate findings and recommendations to the surgical team and anesthesiologist
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Texas
- Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine or passage of Board Certification examination within two years of employment
- Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration for the purpose of writing prescriptions
- Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Experience in chronic disease management and perioperative services
