Job Description

At The Field Club of Greenwich, we are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team on a seasonal basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong work ethic.

  • Assist the Executive Chef in the preparation and execution of all banquets, snack bar, and a la carte services.
  • Prepare and maintain a clean and organized kitchen station, ensuring proper inventory and par stock levels.
  • Cook and plate menu items to the highest standards, working in collaboration with the rest of the kitchen team.
  • Organize and consolidate prep work, making note of needs and notifying supervisors as necessary.
  • Assist in the proper storage and organization of all orders.
  • Utilize prep and food for service, specials, buffets, and family meals.
  • Clean and sanitize the kitchen and all associated areas, adhering to safe standards.
  • Work various buffet stations as needed for special events, including grills, sauté, breakfast, and carving stations.
  • Assist dishwashers in organizing and cleaning the kitchen as needed.
  • Exhibit a positive work ethic and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
  • Be punctual for shifts and maintain proper uniform, including an apron, chef's jacket, pants, and hat.
  • Work with a pace and attention to detail.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team.
