The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for executing a range of cleaning and sanitation tasks under the guidance of the Lead Custodian, Supervisor, or Manager. This role includes thorough cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, hallways, common areas, offices, and other specified locations as required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to upholding the Baystate Health System's Service Standards and core values, which include embodying a positive demeanor, fostering teamwork, and practicing effective communication while taking responsibility for their actions. Regular interaction with patients, families, and caregivers is essential, requiring a calm, compassionate, and professional approach, with respect for the understanding level of patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Exhibit a high degree of interpersonal and customer service skills.

2) Maintain flexibility, organization, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

3) Collaborate within a team environment, working alongside colleagues and unit staff.

4) Comply with health, safety, and attendance standards.

5) Follow system and departmental compliance policies, as well as relevant laws and regulations.

6) Carry out daily tasks with minimal oversight.

7) Perform additional departmental duties as necessary.

Required Experience:

1) No prior experience is necessary.

Preferred Experience:

1) Experience in customer service or public interaction, particularly in a healthcare setting, is advantageous.

Skills and Qualifications:

1) Strong interpersonal skills; proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.

2) Adherence to compliance policies and relevant laws and regulations is essential.
