Job Summary:The Respiratory Care Practitioner II will be responsible for administering therapy care and life support to patients, conducting quality control tests on blood gas machines, and providing lead direction to other Respiratory Care Practitioners. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:- Administer therapy care and life support to patients in an acute care hospital setting
- Conduct quality control tests on blood gas machines to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Provide lead direction to other Respiratory Care Practitioners, including training and mentoring
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized respiratory care plans
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the Respiratory Care Board of California
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate issued by the American Heart Association or CPR certification issued by the American Red Cross
- Valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate
- Valid Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Certificate
- Valid Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist (CPFT) or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist (RPFT) Credential issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- At least two years of full-time experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (or Respiratory Therapist) in an acute care hospital
- Experience working in a pulmonary function lab or sleep disorders center
- Certification in one or more of the following: AE-C Asthma Educator, SDS Sleep Disorder Testing and Therapeutic Intervention Respiratory Care Specialist, Polysomnographic Technologist
